When business is down, this is the most important time to keep yourself up. Your affiliate program leverages sales by getting others to sell for you

Suppose you market to businesses (with an online presence) that share your target market and do not compete with you. Those businesses, called AFFILIATES, could offer your product to their customers through a small ad or banner on their website. When a visitor clicks, goes to your site and buys, the referring website owner gets paid. You only pay them when a sale is made. This is how an affiliate program works.

An affiliate program can be added to almost any eCommerce website regardless of whether it involves the sale of products or services. The decision to add an affiliate program should be based on adequate profit margins for paying an attractive affiliate fee and whether the site can support a high volume of sales. You will see affiliate programs on major eCommerce sites for fashion, books, furniture, appliances and websites that sell software. Information products are generally a perfect fit for affiliate programs. These include eBooks, CD sets with workbooks that offer training on a particular topic and seminars that are often packaged with books, tapes and/or CDs.
